On 10 and 11 July, Christie's Hong Kong held three auctions - Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, Modern and Contemporary Art Day sale, as well as hosting the first leg of ONE: A Global Sale of the 20th Century. Works sold in Hong Kong across the two days of sales realised a total of HK$967,864,000 / US$125,487,890.
The sales were led by Sanyu's monumental White Chrysanthemum in a Blue and White Jardiniere, realising HK$191.6 million at the Evening Sale to set a new auction record for a still life by the artist.
Christie's Hong Kong kicked off the ONE sale, with clients pursuing top quality works by Western artists such as Force Field by George Condo, setting a world auction record for the artist when it sold for HK$53,150,000 / US$6,891,135. This follows the world auction record established for Nicolas Party's Rocks which fetched HK$8,765,000 / US$1,129,738 in Hong Kong last November.

Strong Asian participation continued throughout the night as 100,000 viewers tuned in to watch the top lot from our first ever global live auction, Nude with Joyous Painting by Roy Lichtenstein, presented in New York, sell to a phone bidder in the Hong Kong saleroom for US$46,242,500.
