The phenomenal results this season reaffirms Christie's global leadership in the category with exceptional sell-through rates of 87% by value and 82% by lot.

Continuing Christie's tradition of offering the finest quality coloured diamonds and gemstones, The Sakura set a world record price at auction for the largest purple pink diamond when it sold for HK$226 million / US$29.3 million, to become the most valuable jewel sold at auction in 2021.

The record-breaking star lot confirms the strong market demand for rare and exquisite jewels as heated saleroom action also saw The Sweet Heart, a 4.19 carat fancy vivid pink diamond ring, fetch HK$51 million / US$6.6 million, while a briolette diamond pendant necklace of 50.05 carats realised HK$21 million / US$2.7 million.
