Colonial and modern masterpieces fresh to the market continue to attract collectors worldwide and exceptional results; in our 2013 sale John Glover’s great Tasmanian landscape Ben Lomond from Mr Talbot’s (1834) achieved a record auction price for the artist, selling for £1.74 million, while Fred Williams’s Lysterfield (1968) doubled its estimate to sell for £829,875.
