This season, Christie’s Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale features works by leading masters of the modern era as well as contemporary luminaries and emerging artists from around the world. The sale preview will be held from 4-10 July at Pedder Building, in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district.
The Evening Sale is proudly led by Sanyu’s White Chrysanthemum in a Blue and White Jardiniere, a rare museum-quality masterpiece that is being offered at auction for the first time in 15 years. Other highlights include Zao Wou-Ki’s 18.11.66, a magnificent piece from the artist’s Hurricane Period, and Adrian Ghenie’s On the Road to Tarascon 2, the most important painting by the artist to be offered for sale in Hong Kong to date. The sale will also feature important works by international artists such as Liu Ye, KAWS, and Andy Warhol.
Also included 10 amazing artworks launching the first of its kind, ONE: A Global Sale of the 20th Century. The multi-part, live sale will take place in real time across time zones, moving consecutively through the art world’s major hubs: Hong Kong, Paris, London and New York.
