‘TEFAF is the most important event on the Art Fair calendar for the type of work we deal in. We have a fantastic selection of works we’re bringing this year, from Corot to Freud, Matisse, Cezanne and Dubuffet, to name a few. The best dealers across all disciplines exhibit at TEFAF — from Old Masters to contemporary, antiquities and furniture; seeing all of them and what they have brought to the fair is always a joy.’
‘TEFAF is a great experience — the range of collecting areas that are artfully staged here is unsurpassed. The thorough selection by the fair committee ensures that you can see works of the highest quality in all of areas.’
‘We are looking forward to seeing all our friends at TEFAF 2015. Having moved to Hong Kong in 2011, our yearly trips to Masstricht have taken on an even greater importance as they serve to satisfy our curiosity and appreciation for so many different areas of the arts. Where better to spend three weeks than in the world’s finest private museum learning from some of the greatest experts in their respective fields.’
‘Like most of the exhibitors we hide away a few pieces over the course of the year to offer them for the first time at TEFAF. We are excited to see the reaction our collectors have to these works and also excited to see what other exhibitors have discovered.’
‘I’m looking forward to going to TEFAF again this year. It is probably the art fair with the most extraordinary collection of objects, with some of the world’s leadings professionals and connoisseurs. I like the fact that, each year, the Showcase section gives five younger dealers the opportunity to participate in TEFAF — which retains its reputation as the world’s leading international art fair. It’s also an interesting opportunity to gain an impression of the shape of the art market in the year to come.’
‘It is a great pleasure to walk around the show with the contemporary artists whose work we exhibit at TEFAF. Looking at the show through their ‘makers’ eyes’, they often notice the most bizarre works of art — with no interest in their price or rarity. This consideration of work based on achievement, rather than ownership potential, produces a very different dialogue. We love watching visitors walk past our stand and stop as they catch a glimpse of colour or a flash of silver. Often, they retrace their steps, returning to our stand and asking their companion whether ‘they have seen it too’. The first word I learnt in Dutch was ‘Mooi’ (beautiful) as its one I hear all the time.’
‘TEFAF is one of the very few major Art Fairs at which all the principal dealers of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts exhibit. As such it’s a compulsory date in our calendars, both as an invaluable exercise in taking a pulse of the market, and as an opportunity to mingle with clients and potential clients.’
‘It’s always an exceptionally vibrant and lavish affair; a spectacle for all the senses — a Disneyland for art lovers! Besides my obvious interest in the wonderful manuscripts on show with Les Enluminures (stand 274), Jörn Günther (stand 118) and Heribert Tenschert (stand 216), I’m always intrigued by the depth and variety of Sam Fogg’s offerings (stand 149).’
‘TEFAF is the best fair in the world, and as one of the leading galleries it is important to show alongside one’s peers to demonstrate the expertise we offer to the art market, as well as our market strength. I am always excited to the pictures and objects that have been brought to the fair by my colleagues.’
‘We are proud to be showing an early Pissarro landscape, painted in 1869. Pissarro has just moved from Pontoise to Louveciennes to be close to Monet, Renoir and Sisley, who all lived within working distance of one another. It was here that the Impressionist movement first took shape and this seminal work brilliantly captures Pissarro beginning to explore changing light and atmospheric effects en plein air.’
