Virtual tour | Un regard sur le monde : Collection Comte & Comtesse Jean-Jacques de Flers

Discover the pioneering collection of Count and Countess Jean-Jacques de Flers exhibited in our Parisian galleries from 15 to 20 September. The 171 extraordinary pieces of this selection will be auctioned off on 21 September at 3pm.

Together is how Jean-Jacques and Michèle de Flers spent their whole lives. Together, they harboured a love for art and artists, and an affinity for travel and conversation between styles, places and time periods. In their Neuilly hôtel particulier, art was all around. Often with some unexpected encounters. ‘Keith Haring rubbed shoulders with Wang Du and Anselm Kiefer replied to Chen Zhen, who watched Duan Jianyu, while AR Penck observed Yayoi Kusama,’ elaborates Paul Nyzam, senior specialist in Contemporary Art at Christie’s Paris.

They liked art that questions, art that disrupts established codes, art that challenges itself, art that has more than just aesthetics to offer. As collectors, they set high standards, especially for themselves. Their vision left a mark on French art for several decades. A unique vision, a vision of the world.
