Explore our selling exhibition, Churchill and his Artistic Allies, and track the influences of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism on the works of one of the greatest statesmen of the 20th century and three artists who played significant roles in his development as a painter: Sir John Lavery, Walter Richard Sickert and Sir William Nicholson. From 1–16 June, discover highlights including Churchill’s The Atlas Mountains from Marrakech, which he gave to Antonio Giraudier, who supplied his cigars, a work representative of his fascination with the brilliance of light and the warmth of the environs of North Africa, in particular Morocco.
