Andy Williams: An American Legend

Jean-Paul Engelen, Post-War & Contemporary Art Specialist interviews Andy Williams about how he became interested in collecting and some of his favorite works from his own collection.

Andy William’s collection is eclectic, consisting of works which caught his eye and his imagination at various stages of his career, over a 60-year span beginning in the 1950s, with special emphasis on artists working in New York and Los Angeles, some of whom he knew: de Kooning (a favorite), Hofmann, Diebenkorn, Kline, Noland, Ruscha, Motherwell, Oldenburg and Basquiat.
