Gallery Talk: Paul Cezanne's
Vue sur l'Estaque

Christie's Impressionist & Modern Art Specialist Adrian Meyer discusses Paul Cezanne's Vue sur l'Estaque, a scene depicting the fishing port and small seaside resort on the bay of Marseille which features prominently in Cézanne's life and work from the early 1870s to the mid-1880s, a crucial period in his artistic development. The twenty-five or so surviving paintings of the town that he made during these years allow us to trace the remarkable transformation of his art. (RT: 3:39)
