Discover the Post-War and Contemporary Art exhibition celebrating the artistic dialogue between Paris and London for this new edition of the 20/21 London to Paris week. The Evening and Day sales aim to create a synergy between the paintings of the great representatives of abstraction such as Klein, Debré, Poliakoff or Calder and the works of contemporary painters and sculptors such as Soulages, Baselitz, and Pomodoro.
This 20/21 exhibition in the ground floor galleries is harmoniously displayed with nine African and Oceanic art pieces. This selection pays tribute to the work of nine remarkable artists, and reveals how craft and art from Africa and Oceania can be in dialogue with contemporary art pieces.
In the upper galleries, discover an exceptional collection from a Parisian apartment designed by the renowned interior designer Alberto Pinto. The Thinker, by Auguste Rodin, an iconic work of one of the greatest masters in the history of sculpture undeniably sublimates this exhibition. Virtually walk through this stunning panorama of the arts, across time and geography, reflecting a collector’s passionate search for the most beautiful works of art combined with Alberto Pinto’s talent for display. Masterpieces of decorative arts are intertwined with works of great artists such as Chagall, Matisse, Laurencin or great masters of painting such as Samuel van Hoogstraten or Albrecht Adam.
