'..with Förg, though, the monochromy had a certain unburdened quality - or a different form of impudence. These were paintings that ignored the entire range of conceptual thought; that is why they were monochromes!' (Rudi Fuchs quoted in Abstract, Dialect, Förg, exh. cat., Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam 1995, p. 10).
