Descriptif du lot

Nicolai Fechin is primarily known as a portrait painter, yet nudes have also always been an important subject for him. The human form predominates in Fechin's oeuvre. Even when moving towards abstraction, Fechin was always certain to maintain the integrity of the human body. The present lot was most likely painted shortly after the artist's arrival to New York from Russia with his family.
