Descriptif du lot

The Reference 3544
Introduced in 1967 as the second model of Patek Philippe’s distinctive Golden Circle collection, predating the famous Golden Ellipse collection, the reference 3544 embodied the Maison's bold exploration of geometric case design during the late 1960s and 1970s, a period when sculptural dress watches became an important expression of modern luxury. Produced until approximately 1977, the Golden Circle series stood apart for its elegant fusion of round and square forms, creating a strikingly architectural silhouette that remains unmistakably of its era. The present example is particularly rare and compelling, featuring an unusual textured “linen” dial whose rich surface adds remarkable depth and character; its desirability is elevated further by its retail provenance through Cartier, with the coveted Cartier signature on the dial as well as inventory numbers engraved to the back of the lugs.
