The dish is finely decorated on the interior with a seated lady holding a ruyi sceptre beside four boys at play, the everted rim is decorated with shaped panels enclosing floral sprays.
Dishes of this type often depict scenes of domestic life featuring a young mother looking after her children. The present dish, however, stands out for its superb enamelling and fine condition.
