Only two other related examples appear to have come to the auction market- one from the Reach Family Collection (mentioned in the scholar essay), which may form the pair to the present lot; and another formerly in the collection of Roger Pilkington (1928-1969), sold at Sotheby’s Hong Kong, 5 April 2016, lot 17 (price realized HKD110,520,000).
