A Roman Collection. An International Success

“A truly international group of buyers, bidding from five continents, paid their tribute to the unmistakably European taste of Maria Angiolillo. Characterised by a sophisticated mix of classical decoration and modern appeal, the collection doubled pre-auction expectations.” Amjad Rauf, Director of European Collections

The sale of pictures, furniture and objects from this charming Roman residence was a triumphant success at Christie’s King Street last Thursday. The property from the collection was divided over three sales at Christie’s, realising a total value of £6,054,064. The exemplary quality and eclectic European style of the collection had a strong international appeal, attracting bidding from five different continents.
