The Impressionist and Modern Art Works on Paper sale features an exceptional group of noir drawings and colored pastels by Odilon Redon, including his Vision sous-marine ou Paysage sous-marin.
Further highlights include Les cigales et les fourmis-Souvenir de la Martinique, a rare hand-colored zincograph on canary yellow paper by Paul Gauguin, executed in circa 1889; and two Edgar Degas studies for his masterpiece of 1866 Scène de steeple-chase; aux courses, le jockey blessé.
Paul Cézanne is represented with Paysage and Sous-bois aux grands troncs.
The Paris School offers George Rouault's 1906 Filles and Marc Chagall's Composition aux deux bouquets.
As always, Christie's Impressionist & Modern Art sales are rich in works by Pablo Picasso. The day sale offers a range of works from his 1902 Tête de femme to a group of 1971 pen and ink drawings formerly in the collection of Marina Picasso.
