While the evening sale typically receives more attention, there are still exceptional Impressionist & Modern works on offer in both Christie's day sale and the works on paper sale.

Among the highlights is Henri Edmond Cross's La sieste au bord de la mer. The painting exemplifies the artist's ability to convey the effects of vibration of color and rhythm of form, while the brilliant palette presages the work of the Fauves.

Another vibrant picture on offer is Raoul Dufy's Le pin à Golfe-Juan, which brilliantly captures the Mediterranean sun and lush vegetation of the south of France.

Collectors of sculpture may bid on Alexander Archipenko's Dancers, Versions 3, an innovative demonstration of movement in sculptural form.

Significant works on paper include Pablo Picasso's Coucher de soleil; Marc Chagall's Le coq fleuri (étude pour uine mosaïque); and drawings, watercolors and gouaches by René Magritte, Paul Klee, and Paul Gauguin.
