The Comité relates it to a drawing of two heads, executed in the same technique and of similar dimensions (K.E. Maison, Honoré Daumier: Catalogue raisonné of the Paintings, Watercolours and Drawings, London, 1968, vol. II, no. 121, pl. 21).
