WISDEN, John. Rugby Football Almanack for 1923-24 [1924-1925; 1925-26]. London: John Wisden, 1924-1926. 3 volumes, 8º (160 x 101mm). Plate with player portraits in each volume. Original printed blue wrappers (wrappers to final volume slightly cockled). Provenance: Bernard Gadney (1909-2000) who led England to win the Triple Crown in 1934, and to their first victory over New Zealand in 1936.

EXCELLENT COPIES. The Rugby Football Almanack copied the Cricketers’ Almanack very exactly in style, but failed to flourish in the same way. All of the three volumes published were edited by C. Stewart Caine who took over editorship of the 1926 Wisden after the death of Sydney Pardon.
