First half 18th Century, after designs by Francesco Albani
Woven in wools and silks, depicting Venus at her Toilet with Venus in the centre seated on a lion-pawed chair and with her feet on a tassled cushion, holding a mirror and with her hair being combed by a Grace, within a trellised canopy with roses and hung with floral garlands surmounted by flowering urns, the foreground with a coffre-fort and the sides with further flower-filled trellis, within a spiral ribbon border, reduced in size, the top and bottom border associated, areas of reweaving and patching, possibly German
