Finely painted to the exterior with three groups of scholars, one group admiring a scroll painting, one playing go and the third listening to a musician playing the qin, the interior decorated with a star-shaped panel enclosing a small pine-tree in a jardinière, reserved on a trellis-pattern ground, the everted rim with cartouches of fruit on a diaper- and swastika-pattern ground (minute rim frit)
