INDENTD.F.M.London Gazette 27.6.1944..The recommendation states; Flight Sergeant Victory Fulton Pitcher, R.A.F.V.R., 49 Squadron "This N.C.O.has completed 28 successful bombing sorties as a Navigator of a Lancaster. These sorties have all been against major targets in Germany - seven of them over Berlin. He has proved himself to be an exceptional Navigator and has always taken his aircraft to the target and back with great accuracy, often in the face of heavy enemy opposition. For his gallantry in the air, I recommend he be awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal."
