A Canton fan, painted with figures on terraces, their faces of ivory, their clothes of silk, with an orange border painted with fish, the verso painted with a landscape with a pagoda and other buildings, and two vignettes of figures with ivory faces and silk clothes, the ivory sticks carved and pierced with figures and buildings - 10.5in. (27cm.), circa 1860
