The represented events do not always follow their actual chronological sequence, the first side starting with the Annunciation on the top, the Nativity flanked by Sts. Joachim and Anna with the Mother of God and the Hypapante, the lower section depicting the Presentation of the Mother of God to the Temple, and at the bottom her Dormition, the other side showing on the upper compartment the Ascension, the horizontal arm portraying the Entry of Christ into Jerusalem, the Crucifixion and the Baptism, the lower branch with the Transfiguration and the Old Testament Trinity, the scenes carved in great detail, each compartment inscribed with the title of the displayed episode
