A CENTRAL ITALIAN 50-BORE FLINTLOCK PISTOL

With two-stage slightly swamped octagonal to round barrel decorated with engraved brass panels surrounding a central roundel with a high relief silver bust, engraved tang, flat bevelled lock decorated with further engraved brass panels and marked with the initials 'N.F' on the bottom edge, well figured walnut full stock, scroll engraved brass mounts with further silver high relief busts en suite with the barrel, and later brass-capped ramrod; together with A CENTRAL ITALIAN 50-BORE ROMAN-LOCK HOLSTER PISTOL, MID-18TH CENTURY, with shortened two-stage barrel, brass flat bevelled lock, walnut full stock, cast and chased brass mounts including spurred pommel, large shaped brass crowned escutcheon, and later iron ramrod barrel
