The lid faintly inscribed in white paint SOUTHAMPTON....W.D.D., the front with remains of a late-19th-century Hong Kong shipping label, one lock stamped V.R
19 in. (48 cm.) high; 42 in. (107 cm.) wide; 20½ in. (52 cm.) deep
Provenance
Lieutenant W.D. Dooner of the Royal Irish Fusiliers (killed in the Anglo-Boer War, 18 November 1899). Thence by family descent.
