A Chinese fruitwood multiple sundial, the octagonal base with four dials, swivel mounted from the centre, inset with compass, each dial with ratchet support for degrees of latitude, with hinge-pin gnomon and semi-circular top, the base with additional inscription on the underside - 60in.(15.7cm)wide; and a 6¼in. diam. Chinese geomancers compass, the obverse with central compass box and inscribed with red and black Chinese characters, and further inscribed on the base, in a square boxwood surround - 7½in(19cm)wide (2)
