A COALPORT (JOHN ROSE) IMARI PART DINNER SERVICE
Circa 1820, impressed numerals to the platters
Painted in the 'Deer' pattern with a pagoda and trees on two small islets, the wide border with a stag leaping beside a fretwork bridge alternate with panels of gilt-edged foliate scrolls enclosing a gilt-edged green motif on a salmon ground, the whole enriched in gilt, comprising:
Seven graduated oval platters in six sizes, respectively impressed 2-6, the smaller with no impressed numeral, 10 5/8 - 18 in. (27 - 45.7 cm.) A shaped rectangular vegetable dish and cover, 9¾ in. (24.7 cm.) long
An oval sauce-tureen, cover and stand, 8¼ in. (21 cm.) long, the stand
Ten dinner plates, 9¼ in. (23.5 cm.) diam. (22)
