Lot Essay

See Terrence A. Locket & Geoffrey A. Godden, Davenport China, Earthenware & Glass 1794-1887, p. 145, pl. III for a dessert tureen, cover and stand with similar decoration. Also T.A. Lockett, Davenport Pottery and Porcelain 1794-1887, pp. 34-5, pl. 4 for a basket of the same form dated to circa 1800-10.

A similar part service was sold at Christie’s, New York, 21-22 January 1998, lot 292.
