The case of typical form, with canted concave angles, the hood with a caddy top centred by a clasp, pierced soundfrets and surmounted by (later) iron figural finials. The brass dial plate with a silvered engraved arch depicting figures and armorini surrounding a well-engraved and polychrome decorated moonphase disc showing the moon and zodiac symbols, above a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, ormolu C-scrolled spandrels, the centre with engraved subsidiary seconds ring, flanked by sectors for month and day or week, date aperture above VI. Signed OTTO VAN MEURS AMSTERDAM, the brass movement with anchor escapement, alarm and Dutch strike on two bells; pendulum, doorkey, winding key and two large and two small weights
