A Dutch silver teapot and cover
Mark of Pieter de Both, Haarlem, 1723, with duty mark for Haarlem of 1795
On circular reeded foot, chased with two bands of stylised foliage and stipple engraving between a band of vertical flutes, with C-scroll handle with beaded border, and animal-mask spout, the domed cover with gadrooned rim, chased with stylised foliage, surmounted by a baluster finial, the base engraved with a stylised flower bouquet and inscribed J:V:S:, marked on base
