A faience cup
probably Niderviller, with spirally fluted upper and lower sections, the handle with a leaf-moulded thumbpiece, supported on a petal-moulded foot, painted in manganese with insects among loose sprays of flowers, NR mark -- 3¾in. (9.5cm.) high, circa 1770 (chip to base, some flaking)
