A FAMILLE ROSE 'PEACH AND BAT' BRUSH-WASHER, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
naturalistically modelled as a flattened peach with branch and leaves at one end forming the handle, and a large iron-red and gilt bat at the other end peering over the rim into the interior, the fruit glazed on the sides and underside in a pale yellowish-green tone with shaded pink blushed markings, the interior under a pale turquoise glaze -- 5 in. (12.8 cm. ) long.
