A FAMILLE ROSE PINK-GROUND 'MEDALLION' BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is potted with deep rounded sides rising to a slightly flared rim, supported on a short, slightly tapered foot. The exterior is finely enamelled with four circular panels depicting floral sprays, reserved on a pink sgraffiato ground decorated with lotus sprays. The interior is delicately painted with further floral sprays, with a central medallion enclosing a rabbit in a landscape scene.
5¾ in. (14.8 cm.) diam.
