DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is decorated on the exterior with four roundels enclosing chrysanthemum and daisies, all reserved on a pale blue ground finely incised with scrolling tendrils and further decorated with floral sprays. The center of the interior is further decorated with a roundel of chrysanthemum, daisy and peony below four floral branches on the well.
5 ¾ in. (14.6 cm.) diam.
Provenance
The Collection of Laurence and Sophie (Williams) Moultrie, acquired while serving as missionaries in China in the 1920s.
