IRON-RED JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The ovoid jar is well enamelled with sprays of flowers and scattered blossoms, including lotus, mallow, peony, chrysanthemum, narcissus, morning glory, prunus, day-lily, rose, daisy and many others, all between lappet panels encircling the base and a ruyi-head collar below the slightly waisted neck embellished with iron-red bats in flight amidst scrolling clouds, the mouthrim gilt, and the base and interior enamelled turquoise
