A FINELY CARVED SPINACH-GREEN JADE VASE, HU
QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY
Modelled in the form of a flattened archaic bronze hu, carved in relief with ribbed interlacing ribbons terminating on either side in a central stylised serpent heads surrounded by further mythical beast heads interspersed by abstract archaistic designs, the waisted neck and flaring foot with wave bands, the shoulders set with horned mythical beast loose ring handles, the stone of a mottled pale spinach green tone
