A FLEMISH HUNTING TAPESTRY
Late 17th early 18th Century, possibly Lille or Audenarde
Woven in wools and silks, depicting a wolf hunt with hunters on foot and horseback and hounds fighting a wolf, in a wooded landscape with a town beyond, areas of reweaving particularly to pale threads, the stiff-leaf border and outer slip rewoven, repaired cuts
10 ft. (306 cm.) x 14 ft. 9 in. (450 cm.)
