A four-case lacquer inro, signed Kajikawa Bunryusai saku, early 19th Century
decorated in silver, gold and iroe hiramakie, takamakie, kimpun and kirigane with a scene from a palace, with a female courtier behind a bamboo curtain playing the koto while looking out a beautiful garden lit by the full moon, and a couple in a nearby room admiring the stream that runs through the same garden, nashiji interior; small nut ojime -- 3¾in. (9.5cm.)
