LATE 16TH/EARLY 17TH CENTURY
Woven in silks and wools, depicting 'Christ's Marriage to the Church', with God the father, Christ and the Holy Dove in the centre flanked by angels with the attributes of the passion, the foliate border intertwined with Angels and the four evangelists in the corners, on a modern backing with black and maroon outer slip, some areas of restorations and losses to the light silks and dark wools
74 1/8 in. (189 cm.) high; 144 in. (366 cm.) wide
