CAST FROM THE MODEL BY EMMANUEL FRÉMIET, 19TH CENTURY

Emmanuel Frémiet (1824-1910) was the nephew and pupil of François Rude. He exhibited at the Salon from 1843 attaining many high posts in the years thereafter. He succeeded Barye as professor of animal drawing at the Natural History Museum.
