Campan green marble was quarried in Espiadet, Commune of Campan, Hautes-Pryreneese, France. It has been highly prized since Antiquity and was actively used in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries especially by chimneypiece makers the most notable examples being in the Salon de la Paix, Versailles and was extensively used in the Hall of Mirrors, at the Versailles Palace. The quarry is now closed.
