A FRENCH FOUR-PIECE TEA-SERVICE ON TWO-HANDLED TRAY, by Tetard Fres., Pairs, probably late 19th Century, comprising teapot, coffee-pot, two-handled covered sugar-bowl and cream-jug, each pear-shaped, chased with flute at the corners, on four paw feet (cream-jug missing one foot), each side engraved with reed band surrounding convex shell at bottom and concave shell at top, with part reeded multi scroll handle, the raised cover with conforming decoration to the body and headed by fluted baluster finial-the coffee-pot 10¼in. (26cm.) high; the plain shaped oval tray with molded border and applied shell and dentilated rim, with reeded handles headed by shell--length over handles 25in. (63.5cm.), gross weight 189oz.
