Lot Essay

The case of this watch although later decorated would appear to be original. It is likely that the existing case would have been plain and the watch would have had a leather and pique work outer case, now lost. Louis Baronneau was working in Paris during the mid-17th century and became Horloger du Roi et de la Reine in 1661.
