Canted rectangular, the borders set with split pearls and blue enamel, the cover, sides and base with panels of striated agate, the cover set with circular domed opaque agate tondo, marked on inside front rim of base with warden's mark and charge of Fouache and Compant, and with indistinct maker's mark; the outer bezel of cover struck with the first décharge mark of Henri Clavel and further standard marks for 1809-1819
