Lot Essay

Recorded in the Linke's archives as Index Number 593 with the title ‘Table Louis XV, bois de Palissandre’, this was a popular model and made as early as 1893. Another example of this model sold A Private Collection: Volume I; Sotheby's, New York, 26 October 2006, lot 61 and reappeared again at Christie’s, New York, 18 November 2014, lot 137 ($37,500). The model was conceived as a table à écrire but serves equally well as a coiffeuse.
