The later bevelled rectangular plate with gadrooned inner slip and scrolling acanthus surround with outset corners set with scallop shells, the broken swan's neck pediment centered by an acanthus-wrapped strapwork cartouche with the three feathers of the Prince of Wales above, the sides set with volutes suspending garlands, the shaped bottom with central pierced shell clasp flanked by scrolling acanthus, the back inscribed in pencil Mr. Chase and with indecipherable 18th century ink inscription, regilt
