A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER-GILT SALVER
DUBLIN, 1819, MAKER'S MARK WN, PROBABLY FOR WILLIAM NELSON, FURTHER STAMPED WEST
Shaped circular on four rocaille and paw feet, with shell, rocaille and foliage border and chased with dense band depicting the Four Seasons and their attributes, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms below an earl's coronet, marked on reverse
23½ in. (59.8 cm.) diam.
166 oz. (5,188 gr.)
The arms are those of Primrose quartering Cressy, for the Earls of Rosebery.
