Inlaid overall with boxwood lines, the rectangular projecting top with flowerhead moulded edge above a pair of cupboard doors with inlaid oval panels encircled by husk trails enclosing three later shelves and above a waved foliage-inlaid apron, with shaped panelled mahogany backboard, on splayed feet, the sides with carrying-handles, the backboard loose, later inner back panel and previously with a grille or slatted back

This small cabinet, with its elliptical medallions of flame-figured mahogany, laurel-wreaths and scrolled apron and feet reflect the antique style popularised by Messrs. A. Hepplewhite & Co.'s The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Guide, 1788.
